And it rained on you and me,
as we sat on the beach,
the steady static made by
the crashing of the waves.
The coast held us close
as we embraced.
The fireworks burned through,
the misty night as you,
wrapped me up tight,
when I couldn't, hold myself
together.
That night I got drunk,
off your energy and the heat,
of your fragile body
as you lay next to me.
